Type #180 Roll-On Shields
Description:Glas Mesh FRP Shields and Saddles are non-conductive, pre-shaped 180° peripheral snap-on pipe saddles, fabricated from a hand laid up ultra-violet protected, salt tolerant, fiberglass reinforced vinylester resin. Pre-selected reinforcements are laminated over specially modified molds to a uniform thickness. Sub-zero temperatures will not affect properties.
Recommended Use:These saddles are used by utilities for electrical isolation and abrasion control of bridge mains, and by industry to support insulated pipelines at hangers and supports. They protect plastic pipes and wrapped cable systems from abrasion and serve as a direct replacement for metal saddles where corrosion or electrical conductivity is a concern. Designed for use with 360° pipe clamps, they help prevent above-grade atmospheric corrosion. Saddles can be banded, bonded, or taped in place, with oversized versions available to fit over petrolatum tapes that increase pipe OD. Custom lengths and thicknesses are available as needed.
